William T. Kendall, 95, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at home following a long illness. Memorial services will be held Monday, July 23 at 11 AM at First Lutheran Church, by Pastor Kay Slocum. William was a World War II veteran having served in the Army. He sold insurance for over fifty years and built homes for Riteway Construction Co. He and his wife were charter members of the Good Earth Garden Club. His favorite past times, were trout fishing and wood working. Survivors include his three children; sons David of Bettendorf, Wilfred Eugene of Cedar Rapids, daughter Linda Mahan of Morris Il, six grandchildren: Joel Kendall, Janna Mitchell, Jon Kendall, Carrie McDonald, Catherine Beier and Carolyn Mahan ; fifteen great-grandchildren: Ireland, Isaac, Atticus, Timothy, Alex, Rachel, Micah, Jonah, Maggie, Payton, Hayden, Nathan, Eden, Iris, and Oren. William was born on March 16, 1917 in Altoona , Iowa the son of Odena E. Flo and William T. Kendall. He was married to Ilea McClanahan on July 3, 1941, in Alexandria, La. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
