William "Bill" Dlouhy, 95, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, September 14,  2018 at the Solon Nursing Care Center.  Celebration of Life Services will  be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Brosh Chapel & The Avacentre  in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Burial will follow in  Czech National Cemetery, where Cedar Rapids Fire Honor Guard will conduct  interment rites.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, September  17, 2018, at Brosh Chapel.    William was born August 19, 1923 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frank and  Libbie (Pavlicek) Dlouhy.  Bill served in the United States Army during  World War II, in the European Theatre.  He married Juanita Frances Hovorka  on June 11, 1948 at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church.  Bill joined the  Cedar Rapids Fire Department in August of 1947, where he served as the  District Chief from 1973 until his retirement on December 20, 1978.  He  enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing and being outdoors.    Bill is survived by his son David (Kerry) Dlouhy of Cedar Rapids, and a  granddaughter Amanda Dlouhy of Minneapolis, Minnesota.    He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita on April 6, 2011; and his  sister Dorothy (Ernie) Miller.    Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department in his name.
