Wayne Thomas Nederhoff, 55 of Shellsburg went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Grace Trinity Church , 301 Grove Street, NW , Shellsburg. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

Wayne was born July 19, 1954 in Grundy Center , the son of Arthur L. and Beverly J. (Bantz) Nederhoff. He was a 1972 graduate of Grundy Center High School and went to the University of Iowa for Electrical Engineering for two years. Wayne married Joy-Anne Kane on May 26, 1979 . He enjoyed working on cars, playing his guitar, and fishing. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Wayne is survived by his five sons, Anthony (Anne) of Fairfax, Andrew, Tyler, Michael, and Cody of Shellsburg; three grandchildren, Akiva, Austin, and Aedric; two brothers, Steve (Patricia) Nederhoff, Ray (Grace) Nederhoff; and one sister Susan (Tom) Schaeffer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Beverly Nederhoff and his wife, Joy-Anne Nederhoff.
