Walter G. Peters, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died June 4, 2020, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.  As per Walter's wishes he has donated his body to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program, and there will be no services.

Walter was born January 5, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Walter and Dorothy (Krieger) Peters.  He attended Round Lake High School (IL).  Walter was united in marriage to Judy (Wells) on August 9, 1968, in Waukegan, IL.  He was a retired truckdriver and avid fan of NASCAR.

Walter is survived by his wife Judy of Cedar Rapids; his children Lisa (Ryan) Broussard of Marion and Walter of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren Khayla, Grayson and Walter; and sister Deb (John) Hulet of Washington, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Becky.
