Vincent Michael Leonard, 79 of rural Iowa City, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in his home after a long illness. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at St. Patricks Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Bridgets Cemetery near Morse. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Brosh Chapel in Solon. Vincent was born November 25, 1936 in Iowa City, the youngest of three children of John and Loretta (Maher) Leonard. After graduating from St. Patricks Catholic School, he joined the United States Army, and served overseas. He then returned home to work on the family farm. He enjoyed piloting his small plane and spending time with his family. Vincent is survived by his sister Irene (Don) Jedlicka of Solon; his brother John D. Leonard of Marion; as well as his nieces and nephews. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to the family.
