Vickie Day-Wernentin, 56 of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014 at Relevant Life Ministries, located at 351 8th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is handling arrangements. Vickie was born September 2, 1957 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Virgil and Dorothy (McVay Bishop) Day. Vickie was a very caring and loving person. She enjoyed helping people and animals whenever possible. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially springtime. Vickie is survived by her beloved dog, Gi; siblings, Donna Cabrera of North Carolina, Doris Taylor of Central City, David Rich of Marion, and Dianna Coghlan-Henderson of Cedar Rapids; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Vickie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; and her brother, Donald Rich. Memorials may be directed to the family.
