Verna Mae Kray, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Northbrook Care Center.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Private family interment will be in Czech National Cemetery.

Verna was born August 4, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Leonard P. and Helen (Parizek) Musel.  She graduated from Wilson High School, class of 1950.  Verna was united in marriage to Robert E. Kray on August 8, 1950, in Cedar Rapids.  She worked for over 25 years at Pierson Floral Shop, retiring in 1992.  She enjoyed designing, tending to her flowers, occasionally visiting the casino, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family.

Verna is survived by her daughter Susan A. (Randy) Lampman; her son Steven (Peggy) Kray; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and her three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, who died February 15, 2016.
