Vera May Walton, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away in Jesus' arms on August 7, 2024, just shy of her 93rd birthday. Private family service will be held at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids. She will be laid to rest in Linwood Cemetery.

Mom suffered with health issues with the last four and a half years having dementia. She was cared for in her own home by her children and her daughter-in-law to be.  Despite having dementia, mom enjoyed life, and we enjoyed her. The last four months God gave her and us the gift of her having her good health, amazing clarity, a comical sense of humor and full of love. Christ was in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Della Harrington, her siblings Paul Harrington and Margaret Ann Cochran, her husband Dale, and her son Michael. She is survived by her children Kathleen (Mike) Knight, Brenda (Jay) Owens, and Montelle (Jennifer) Walton; her grandchildren Brandon (Jacki) Knight, Heather (Adam) Mohrfeld, Ryan (Lindsey) Knight, Nicholas (Victoria) Walton, Amber (Daniel) Medina and Dale (Nicole) Owens; eleven great-grandchildren.
