Trudy worked at Rockwell Collins for 27 years and retired in 1988. She has been a member of St. Ludmila's Catholic Church for 70 years, Elks Lodge #251 Auxiliary, VFW #788 Auxiliary, and The Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed being a member of St. Monica's Circle for many years. She loved reading books, doing word search books and watching ME TV. She was a great joke teller and could memorize them all. She was a very devoted and loving wife. Her greatest joy and passion was spending time with her family, being a doting mother and beloved grandmother. And a good friend to those who knew her and loved her.
Trudy is survived by her children; Allen (Anita) Plotz, Gary (Chae) Plotz both of Cedar Rapids and Diane (David) Gartzke of West Branch, 7 grandchildren-Ryan Plotz, Andrea (Adam) Meder, Leanne(Brett) Hazlett, Alex(Vanessa)Plotz, Branden Sobaski, Brett Sobaski and Calista Sobaski. And 11 great-grandchildren; Lexa, Evan, Avery, Violet, Adleigh, Remington, Elliott, Scarlett, Merritt, Dominick, Locklyn, and brother-in-law Parlyn(Helen) Plotz.
Our mom lived a very joyful-loving Christian life. She will be missed more than words can say but we know she's dancing with dad-to their favorite Polka.
She was preceded in death by her husband (Johnny), parents; Freda (Specht)& George Williams, grandmother Emma Specht, brothers-Floyd and Leo Williams, 5 sister-in-laws and 4 brother-in-laws.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at Mercy ER & ICU for their care for mom and we'd also like to thank the Staff of Mercy Hospice House for their loving support and to mom's nurses Karen and Teresa thank you from the bottom of hearts for your unwavering kindnesses & care.
