Troy Malik Mims, 23, of Cedar Rapids, died on Monday, May 31, 2021. Homegoing services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, with Pastor Charles Campbell presiding. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at Brosh Chapel.
Troy was born February 10, 1998, in Chicago, the son of Loise Brown-White. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School, class of 2016. Troy worked at NFI Industries for the past four years. He enjoyed making music, taking care of his sisters, watching the Lakers, and spending time with his family, especially his Granny, Andrea Brown. Troy was known to his family as a loving, caring person and great listener.
Troy is survived by mother Loise (Ramel White) Brown; his siblings Lauren Richardson, Karmen Clark, Kourtney Clark, Kyra Clark; his grandparents Jacques and Andrea Brown; his uncle Jacques (Tikara) Brown II; his aunt Kimmie (Todd) Mcllvaine; two great-grandmothers Veronica Strahan and Lois Brown; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother Aaron Richardson II, and his uncle Kevin Brown.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
