Tom "Kirby" Bevans, 53, died Thursday, February 11, at his home. As per Tom's wishes a private service was held on Friday, February 12, and a memorial service will be held in Cedar Rapids as well as service in August at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

Tom was born December 27, 1956 in Minneapolis , the son of Kirby and Joan Osgerby Bevans. He was a graduate of Waterloo East High School in 1975. Kirby was an over the road truck driver. He was employed by Bushman Excavating in Cedar Rapids .

Tom is survived by a son, John, of Seoul, South Korea; three sisters: Kathy (Dan) Cantonwine of Vinton, Coleen (Mark) Driscoll of Cedar Falls, Eileen (Scott) Melohn of Clarksville; nieces Tara (Zach), Shawna, Samantha and Melissa, nephews Michael (Jessica), Stephen, David, Joshua, and Justin; great nieces Alyssa and Emily; and a great nephew, Tracker; as well as his close friends including Steve Droste and Jon Petersen.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents.
