Thomas Rowland, 63, of Solon, died unexpectedly Monday, August 10, 2020 following a biking accident. F uneral Mass will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 20 , 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. For those unable to attend in person the Requiem funeral Mass will be live-streamed and can viewed at https://www.youtube.com/c/ImmaculateConceptionCatholicChurch/videos .

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Solon. A Rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. on Wednes day August 19 , 2020, with visitation to follow until 7 p.m. at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.

Tom was born March 25, 1957 in Waukesha , Wisconsin, the son of Richard and Joan (Murphy) Rowland. He graduated from West Delaware High School in Manchester and then attended Marquette University obtaining his CPA . He married Linda Robinson on October 3, 1987 in Milwaukee. During their time in Milwaukee he worked as VP Fi n ance for Town and Country Supermarkets and later moved to the Solon area where he worked at City Carton in Iowa City as the CFO. He went on to work for Homewood Electric in Iowa City and most recently Design Engineers in Cedar Rapids as the business manager. Tom enjoyed golfing, hunting, dog training and coaching little league. His love of family involved organizing an annual family reunion, aka "Murphyphest", and chauffeuring his kids and others to Future Problem Solvers national competitions. Above all he cherished , lived and shared his deep Catholic Faith .

Tom is survived by his wife Linda; daughters Monica of Iowa City and Maya of Moline, Illinois and son Tony of Solon; parents Richard and Joan Rowland of Iowa City; siblings Paul (Carol) Rowland of Cedar Rapids, Mary (Steve) Salter of Loveland, Colorado, Don Rowland of Phoenix, Arizona, Ann (Glenn) Mallow of Watertown, Wisconsin, Joe (Jeanne) Rowland of Janesville, Wisconsin, Dave Rowland of New Berlin, Wisconsin, and Nancy (Paul) Satorie of Plantation, Florida; and many other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his son Michael in 2018.
