Theresa (Terri) A. Haugh, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, 2017 at home, surrounded by her family, following a long illness. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, Cedar Rapids, where there will be tribute to honor her at 6:30 p.m.

Theresa is survived by her husband Terry; her children Christopher (Kristen) Haugh of Chicago, Allison (Lars) Djuvik of Chicago and Lindsey Boleyn of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren Ellen Boleyn, Henrik and Eva Djuvik; a sister-in-law Teresa (Mick) Meeks; her nieces Lisa Barth, Sheila Gill Manning, Missy Haugh and nephews Jamie Barth, Jeff Barth, Jeff Meeks, Jacob Meeks, Ryan Meeks, Mitchell (Monique) Gill, Brian (Cherrie) Haugh, and Brad (Glenda) Haugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Patricia Barth, brother in laws Joseph Barth and Charles Haugh, niece Lori Barth, and great-nephew Elijah Main.

Terri was born on April 18, 1949 in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Lorene (Henry) Eilers. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Monticello.  She earned Medical Technology and Chemistry degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Theresa was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Terry Haugh, on December 20, 1971 in Monticello.

Terri's greatest joy in life were her grandchildren - Ellie Belly, Mr. Blue Eyes, and Eva the Diva. She spoiled them silly with love and attention and made every holiday so special for them.

She was an avid gardener who spent countless hours in her yard perfecting every little detail. Her passion for all things flowers started young as she
grew up in her family's business, Eiler's Greenhouse, and she has instilled a green thumb in all of us.

Terri was also an expert knitter, turning her hobby into a successful online yarn business after retiring from the medical field. Our family was never short on beautiful handmade scarves, hats, and sweaters - her favorite models were her three grandkids.

She loved music, dancing, traveling, reading, cooking and baking, especially
Christmas cookies with her grandkids. She made instant friends with all she met and loved donating her time to help others in need. She was always our first phone call when we needed anything, no matter the hour of day.

In her final act of generosity, she donated her brain to the Mayo Clinic Brain Bank to aide in the research of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) and hopefully find a cure for this horrific disease.

We would like to thank all of the compassionate people who took care of Terri through Unity Point Palliative Care and Hospice, especially Brenda, who always lifted Terri's spirits.

Memorials may be directed to the family or the MSA Coalition in honor of Theresa Haugh.
