T. Jean was born September 24, 1922 in Williamsburg, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Butler) Niner. Jean was united in marriage to Lawrence Gerlits on February 10, 1941 in Millersburg. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her pride and joy was being the family cheerleader. She was a mother first and a Tupperware saleslady for many years. She volunteered at the VA Medical Center, St. Mary's Catholic Church, knitted stocking hats for the young infants at Mercy Hospital. Jean enjoyed going out to eat, traveling and most of all spending time with her friends and family.
Jean is survived by her children Larry (Faye), Jim (Wanda), Susan Gerlits, Robert, Mike (Jenny), Tim (Lisa), Vincent (Sue), Francis (Daisy), Jeff, and Pat (Gabrielle) Gerlits; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her parents, her husband Lawrence, her sons Dale and George Gerlits, a granddaughter Angela Gerlits, two daughters-in-law Mary Ann and Bonnie, as well as her siblings.
