Terry Lee Fouts, 81, passed away on October 4, 2023, from complications from a long illness. Burial service was held at the Muslim National Cemetery presided by Imam Taha Tawil, and arrangements were handled by Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids.

Terry was born September 24, 1942, in Burlington, the son of Eugene and Bonnie (Lant) Fouts. He was a 1960 graduate of Burlington High School, and then served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years stationed in Iwakuni, Japan. It was there that he became fluent in the Japanese language and culture. He received his Bachelor's degree and MBA from the University of Iowa. Terry enjoyed a successful career as an international sales director for heavy equipment in Eastern Asia until he retired due to Parkinson's Disease.

On August 3, 1972, Terry married Patimah "Tima" Samad in Malaysia. They made their lifelong home in Cedar Rapids.

Terry is survived by his daughter from a previous marriage, Janina (Robert) Mattus of Hattiesburg, MS; his brother, Dennis (Marcia) of Iowa City; granddaughter, Francesca Mattus; and a niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tima, and parents.
