Steven Castleberry, 59, of Kiowa, Colorado, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at the home of his son in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Celebration of Life Services will be 12 noon Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Steven was born September 18, 1955 in Sacramento, California, the son of Daniel and Jean (Stephenson) Castleberry. He was a graduate from Cedar Rapids Kennedy as well as receiving his Bachelor of Science from University of Iowa in 1986. He served in the United States Air Force in para-rescue for over 16 years. He spent his last eight years working in the organic farming industry after many years in corporate America. Steven is survived by his children Gregory (Erica) Castleberry of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Amanda Castleberry and Sarah (D.J.) Harshey both of Alamogordo, New Mexico; Avery Castleberry, Micayla, Nicholas and Baileigh Harshey; his parents Dan and Jean of Robins; siblings Vickie (Frank) Edwards of Ankeny, Cindy (Kurt) Anderson of England, Connie (David) Ostroot of Cedar Rapids, and Douglas (Erinn) Castleberry of Carlisle. He was preceded in death by his wives Deborah Stuefen and Nancy Coleman-Castleberry Memorials may be directed to the family.
