Spencer Ryan, beloved son of Rick D. and Tracy A. (Holsinger) Lafler, was born July 11th, 1992 in Cedar Rapids. He completed his education from the St. Luke's Life Skills Program in 2012.

Spencer had an exceptional passion for collecting unique and diverse items, which brought him immeasurable joy throughout his life. His extensive collection included a variety of items including pens, notepads, toiletries from his hotel travels, meticulously documented photographs of milk brands (if not the jugs themselves), and a cherished collection of M&M's-themed memorabilia and yellow smiley-faced items. With a camera always in hand from a young age, capturing moments became a lifelong passion for Spencer. This unwavering dedication to documenting and preserving cherished memories showcased his enduring commitment to his craft, resulting in numerous accolades, including many blue ribbons earned in 4-H.

Bringing joy to his family through the art of cooking, Spencer took great delight in preparing meals that brought everyone together. He also found immense pleasure in engaging in various games (Yahtzee, Rummy, UNO, Sorry and Wii Bowling) that fostered laughter, friendly competition, and quality time with both his family and friends.

During his life he received support from many organizations including The ARC, Systems Unlimited, Special Olympics and Julian Unleashed of which the family is forever grateful for their support and care.

Spencer is survived by his parents, siblings Garrett (Kalista) Lafler, Ethan Lafler, and Morgan Lafler; maternal grandma Betty Holsinger; paternal grandparents Donald (Ann) Lafler; and many aunts, uncles, cousins too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa Bob Holsinger and aunts Camie McBurney and Vickie Jean Holsinger.

Spencer was able to leave a lasting gift, the gift of life through the Iowa Donor Network.
