Shirley Mae Tesar, 84 of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at her home. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW.
Shirley was born July 19, 1925 in Osage, the daughter of John R. and Bessie (Button) Tubbs. She attended school in Osage and graduated in 1948. She went on to attend the University of Iowa in Iowa City. She married John Tesar on February 10, 1945.
Shirley is survived by her children, John Tesar, Rose Newlon, Deborah Darrow, and Kathy Zieser, Lorraine Howk; 10 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; one greatgreatgrandchild; and her sister, Betty Warner.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; infant twin sons; four sisters; and two brothers.
