Shirley Mae Leon, 77 of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the Avacentre at Brosh Chapel, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, Cedar Rapids.

Shirley was born October 10, 1939 in Clinton, the daughter of John and Bernice (Witt) Fenzel. She married Royce Gene Leon in November of 1957 in Clinton. She was an avid bowler, liked camping with friends, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Shirley is survived by her children: Blake (Julie) Leon, Rhonda Leon, Traci (Kevin); grandchildren April (Eric), Blake (Madeline), Derika, Tiffany (John), Connor, Derek, and Skylar; eight great grandchildren; sisters Nancy Housenga and Vera Nordt; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, daughter Tammy, grandson Chase,  three brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Shirley's name.
