Sherrill was born on July 22, 1931 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Evert and Stella Ronan Edblom of Beresford, SD. She was adopted and raised by her wonderful parents, Samuel and Ruth Harding of Aberdeen, SD. She grew up in Aberdeen until the age of 12 and then the family moved to Coralville, Iowa in 1943. She married the love of her life, Charles Richard Terrell, on September 9, 1949, at Evangelical Free Church in Coralville. They farmed near Coralville until buying their own farm and moving near Swisher in March of 1954. They continued farming and then started a construction company for earthmoving until it evolved into the underground utility company it is today. She held the position of Vice President. She was very supportive of the company and did a lot of traveling and cooking for all the workers when they were away on projects for weeks at a time until her health prevented her from doing this kind of work.
They were blessed with five children, Richard Gordon Terrell of Iowa City, Pamela Kay (Richard) Leichsenring of Middle Amana, Rebecca Ann (Tim) Weyer of Beaverton, Oregon, Thomas Leroy (Dawn) Terrell of Swisher, and Timothy Loren (Lorrie) Terrell of Swisher.
Her grandchildren are Jennifer (Mark) Hemmeyer and Gregory Weyer, Beaverton, Oregon, Jesse (Jessica) Leichsenring, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, Matthew Leichsenring, Baghdad, Iraq, Sonya (Ryan) LaGrange, Swisher, Samantha (Matthew) Ternes, Fairfax, Andy and Kalli Terrell, Swisher. Great grandchildren are Paul Hemmeyer, Nathaniel and Casey Leichsenring, Preston, Colton, Sadie, Landyn and Kadyn LaGrange, and Jaxton Ternes.
She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Beth Miller, Fairfax, sisters-in-law Shirley Rammelsburg, Fairfax, Carol Terrell, Houston, Texas, and brother-in-law Ernie (Delphi) Terrell, Port Bryon, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents Evert and Stella Edblom and Samuel and Ruth Harding.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and babies. She is deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed. And special thoughts go to her loving daughter, Pam, who spent the last few years making her feel as loved and comfortable as possible. She was a wonderful daughter to her mother.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Elaine Miller, Sherrill's caregiver, Julie, Kim, Donna and Carol from Hospice and Dr. Chris Dunn of the Amana Family Practice.
Memorials will be donated to Hospice at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and the Swisher First Responders.
