Shelly Kay McNeal, 57, of Swisher, died Monday, August 29, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids.  Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery in Swisher.

Shelly was born June 9, 1965, in Iowa City, the daughter of Ronald and Karen (Hahn) McNeal.  She graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, class of 1983. Shelly was united in marriage to Kenny Christner, and they were later divorced.  She worked Crouse Cartage and at YRC for many years.  She was a passionate Miami Dolphins fan and loved her two dogs, Ellie May and Piper.   Shelly was a member of the Swisher American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed being around her family and grand-puppies.

Shelly is survived by her daughters Tori (Adam) McNeal-Reihmann, McKenna McNeal-Christner, Jessie Christner; her father Ron (Ronda) McNeal; her mother Karen (Milo) Popp all of Swisher; her brothers Brian (Tammy) McNeal and Rodney (Emily) McNeal; aunts and uncles, as well as her nephews and nieces; Taylor, Maggie, Marshall, Brandon and Logan McNeal.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
