Scott Conrad Svoboda, 43 of Shellsburg, died Sunday, September 30 from a sudden illness at St. Lukes Hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Scott was born December 14, 1963 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Conrad and Diann Fiebelkorn Svoboda. He married Rebecca Wenger on September 21, 1996 in Cedar Rapids.
Scott is survived by his wife Becky Svoboda of Shellsburg; parents Conrad and Diann Svoboda of Cedar Rapids; sons Mike (Angie) VanderHeiden of Atkins, Mat VanderHeiden of Shellsburg, Marshall (Kaylea) Schneider of Billings, Montana; daughter Mayse Schneider (Jason Grimm)of Shellsburg; 8 grandchildren: Dylan, Kaley, Mycala, Kaitlyn, Luke, Darian, and Keyten; and his sisters Dianne (Scott) Mason of Amana and Amy (Joe Petta) Svoboda of New York.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Emil and Irma Svoboda and his maternal grandparents Harold and Edith Fiebelkorn, and a grandson Daniel VanderHeiden.
