Schuranda RaShural Pittmon-Gibbs, 47, was born February 13, 1974, to Marylin Walker and Davie Pittmon in St. Louis, Missouri. She gained her eternal wings on August 10, 2021. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Private Homegoing services and burial in Oak Hill Cemetery will be held.
Schuranda was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1992. She was an entrepreneur of several businesses such as Da's Diamonds Daycare and Diamonds & Rubies Elegant Events. On September 4, 2020, she married her life's love, William James Gibbs, combining their two families into one.
Schuranda was passionate about many things in life, with her greatest joy being her family and her grandchildren. When she was not with family, she enjoyed listening to gospel quartet music, sewing, and arts and crafts. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed getting dressed up and planning fancy parties.
She leaves cherished memories with her husband, William, her parents Marylin and Willie Jenkins and Davie Pittmon, her son Ezekiel Pittmon, her brothers Antoine Jenkins and Brandon Pittmon, and her sister Calisha Jenkins-Paige. She was also gifted with her bonus children, Toriel (Ronesha), Wakitta, Andrew, Whitney, William, Joshua, and Sarah as well as her granddaughters, Amorea, Heaven, Amiyah, Kia-Lynn and NaToria. She was blessed with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and sister-in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Courtney LeVell Jenkins and her maternal grandmother, Ruby Mae Walker.
