Sandra "Sandy" Lee Sanborn, 65 of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family on Monday, July 18, 2016.  Graveside inurnment services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Celebration of life gathering will follow at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.

Sandra was born July 7, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Orton and Betty (Grady) Gralund.  Sandy attended Jefferson High School.  Sandy was united in marriage to Daryl Sanborn on July 9, 1988 in Cedar Rapids.  She went on to work at Square D, Amana Refrigeration and Bechtel Corporation.  She was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, but traveled with her husband on various job assignments in many states, including Florida, Virginia, North Carolina and Las Vegas.  Sandy will be remembered for her kind spirit as she was a friend to all she met.  Spending time with family and having fun at the casinos brought her joy.

Sandy is survived by her husband Daryl; three children Tammy (Brad) Rick of Center Point, Amy (Spencer) Jackson of Walford and Brandon Sanborn of St. Louis; eleven grandchildren Crystal (Jim), Lukas, Kylee, Kelsey, Hannah, Matthew, Johanna, Emma, Nicole, Chase and Reece; a great-granddaughter Presley; her father Orton Gralund of Cedar Rapids; her sister Barb Stanley of Cedar Rapids; two brothers Bill (Kathy) Gralund of Cedar Rapids and James Gralund of Denver, Colorado; her many nieces and nephews; three brothers-in-law Wayne (Joan) Sanborn of Rhode Island, Ronnie Sanborn of Cedar Rapids and Kevin (Pattie) Sanborn of Cedar Rapids; and best friend Roxanne (Dennis) Scofield of Solon.

She was preceded in death by her mother, brother-in-law Melvin Stanley, mother and father-in-law Angie and Kenneth Sanborn, and two sisters-in-law Carole Logsdon and Linda Sanborn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or to Unity Point Hospice.
