Royce Lange, 68, of Hiawatha, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at St. Lukes Hospital with his Family by his side. As per his wishes no services will be held. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are caring for Royce and his family at this time.

Royce was born December 7, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of “Lee” (Nochtrieb) Lange. Royce was united in marriage in 1977, to this union they had two children, they later divorced. Royce later married Julie Gebert on June 20, 1998. Over the years, Royce worked as a welder on the Oil Rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, he then drove Semi-trucks all over the United States, landing him in Cedar Rapids where he worked for Cedar Rapids Incorporated. There he was part of designing and building the world’s largest road paver that would later be shipped to Japan. In April 2026, Royce retired from Hotshots Pharmaceutical Delivery. He was known as a “Jack of All Trades” and called himself such.

When Royce was younger, he would race Motorcycles and Cars. Royce always had to keep busy; he would often call it “Tinkering” when he wanted to build instead of sitting still. He also developed a love of reading history, especially German History. Included in his many hobbies, Royce had an obsession with planes that could be seen throughout his whole house. He acquired his pilot’s license through the Marion Airport where he flew private planes and mostly flew the Bi-plane and Ultralights. He was an active member of EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) and attended their yearly Oshkosh Wisconsin Fly In. Royce loved to spend his time camping, riding his motorcycles, Nascar, Christmas time, mowing his yard, and watching old T.V. Shows like Monty Python, Night court, and movies Down Periscope, God is My Co-Pilot, and The Right Stuff. Most Importantly, Royce loved to spend time with his family.

Royce is survived by his current wife Julie; 2 Children Jessica (John) and Kurtis; grandchildren Kalie, Brett, Kaiser, and Trevor; and great granddaughter Luna.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lee; and brother Jon.
