Rose-Alice Brokaw, 76, of Solon, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Solon. Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Thursday, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are assisting the family at this time.

Rose-Alice was born on January 18, 1950, in Anamosa, the daughter of Glenn and Betty (Sigworth) Brokaw. She graduated from St. Mary High School in Fairbault, Minnesota. Rose-Alice married David Edward Bertling on May 24, 1975, in Anamosa. She worked as Registered Nurse for many years at the Hallmark Care Center and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Rose-Alice is survived by her son Philip (Carolyn) Bertling; her grandsons Garrett, Holden and Carter.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband David Bertling and her father Glenn Brokaw.
