Ronald Henry Schuster, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, January 23, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be in Czech National Cemetery.
Ronald was born February 14, 1939, in Beatrice, Nebraska, the son of Raymond and Edna (Oatmans) Schuster. He graduated from Lewiston High School in Stiener, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army Reserves for many years. Ron was united in marriage to Janice Lee Hudson in Lewiston, Nebraska. They farmed in Lewiston for many years before moving and living in Enid, Oklahoma. On December 26 of 1986 Ron and his family moved to Cedar Rapids. Ron worked as a Power, Energy and Oil Superintendent, traveling the World, troubleshooting for energy construction, mostly of RJ Enterprises. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, tending to his lawn, and most of all spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his son Sean (Carrie) Schuster; four grandchildren Rachel, Dylan (Morgan), Gabriel (Lauren) and Carter; one great-grandson Myles; brother Dennis (Bonita) Schuster; as well as his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janice, son Randy, two brothers Dallas and Robert Schuster, and his sister Janith.
