Ron “Beanie” L. McNeal, 80, of Swisher, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in his home surrounded by loved ones. Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2026 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW in Cedar Rapids. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Brosh Chapel. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Castek Cemetery near Swisher.

Ronald Louis was born on June 6, 1946, in Iowa City, the son of Wayne Albee and Catherine Delores (Cooney) McNeal. In his early years he owned and operated his own trucking company. He then worked and retired from Wendler.

Ron is survived by his loving wife Ronda McNeal; children Brian (Tammy) McNeal, Rodney McNeal, Michael (Kim) See and Michelle (Bob) Foss; grandchildren Brandon (Jalynn) McNeal, Taylor McNeal, Tori McNeal, Logan (Matt Viar) McNeal, Mckenna (AJ Pirkl) McNeal, Cody See, Maggie McNeal and Marshall McNeal; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Shelly McNeal, brother Jody McNeal and sister Marlene Kilberger.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kim and Michelle for their care of Ron over the past several years as well as to Unity Point Hospice for their care over the last days.
