Robert "Bob" Sebetka, 78 of Ely, died on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center.  Visitation will be from 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2017.  Private family burial will be held at Czech National Cemetery.

Bob was born March 22, 1939 and raised in rural Marion, the son of George and Mary (Marousek) Sebetka.  He loved farming, raising livestock, and hunting. Horses became his life's career.  He was a fulltime Horseshoer for over 18 years traveling many states. Through his retirement, he continued to enjoy his love of buying and selling horses and tending to his farm.  Bob was very proud of his Czech heritage and will be remembered for his love of Pepsi, smoking his pipe, and embellishing stories.  He will be dearly missed as he touched the lives of many.

Bob is survived by his wife JoAnn of over 35 years; his children Russ of Iowa, Mike of Arkansas and Kathy Sebetka (George Lopez) of California; granddaughter Kelly Sebetka of Pennsylvania; his sister Marie Vanous of Independence; his brother-in-law Duane Brown of Ladora; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lucille Brown, and a brother-in-law Ed Vanous.
