Robert Eugene Hendricks, 82 of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at his home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Brosh Chapel, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. A private family celebration of Robert's life will be held at Brosh Chapel with burial in Czech National Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted. Robert was born January 29, 1933 in Aurora, South Dakota, the son of James and Violet Eldora (Yerrington) Hendricks. He served in the United States Army during Korean Conflict from 1953-1956. Robert was united in marriage to Darlene May Raim on December 29, 1953 in Iowa City. Robert worked for many years at Cherry Burrell and International Paper until his retirement in 1995. Robert enjoyed working on cars, building things, woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. Robert is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Darlene; daughter Terry Lee Kosina of Cedar Rapids; a granddaughter Casey Day (Nick) Saba of Marion; two great-grandchildren Kathryn and Kristin Saba; and his brother Floyd "Al" Hendricks of Hiawatha. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers James and Leroy Hendricks. Memorials may be directed to the family.
