Richard "Dick" Vermace, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, July 19, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital. As per Dick's wishes private family services will be held.

Dick was born April 4, 1941, in Iowa City, the son of Frank and Lena (Van Benthuysen) Vermace. Dick worked for many years for University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, River Products – Coralville as well as farmhand.

Dick is survived by his wife Linda; his children Reggie (Debra) Vermace, Randy Vermace, Dallas Vermace, and Troy Vermace; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother James Vermace; niece Calista Slaton, nephew Terry Vermace; two aunts, Evelyn Gray and Delores Anderson; his cousins; and close family friends David and Karen Baculas.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and a son in infancy.
