Richard Lee Tesar, 59 of Mechanicsville, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be 12 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2007 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Burial to follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the chapel.
Richard was born January 17, 1948 in Iowa City, the son of Louis and Gladys Doskocil Tesar. Richard loved the outdoors, fishing and spending time with his cats Rosie and Lady.
Richard is survived by his daughters Donna Williams and Dorothy DelValle; grandchildren Brendon and Cynric; his mother Gladys Tesar; sister Marie Theisen; and brothers James (Delores) Tesar and Donald (Gloria) Tesar.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis.
