His years at Colonial Bakery formed lasting friendships with many. He had a special relationship with his high school friends from Creston Iowa, continuing over the years to get together on a regular basis. Fishing trips to Canada, Hawkeye games, Chicago Cubs games and spending winters at Dana's Ranch in Arizona were among his favorites. If Dick met you once, you were a friend forever.
