Richard "Dick" Glen Henry, 76 of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital, of heart failure. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 12 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday in Springville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Richard was born January 23, 1935 in Creston, Iowa, the only child of Glen and Elsie (Hubatka) Henry. He served in the United States Army. Dick married Sarajean "Sal" Marshall on June 1, 1957 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He worked for Colonial Baking Company for over 34 years, retiring in 1994. Dick lived a good life with his wife, children and grandchildren. Lots of memories were created living on Coralville Lake for 24 years enjoying the water and wildlife. His years at Colonial Bakery formed lasting friendships with many. He had a special relationship with his high school friends from Creston Iowa, continuing over the years to get together on a regular basis. Fishing trips to Canada, Hawkeye games, Chicago Cubs games and spending winters at Dana's Ranch in Arizona were among his favorites. If Dick met you once, you were a friend forever. Richard is survived by his wife Sal; daughter Cathy Mullin of Wenatchee, Washington, Carolyn (Charlie) Morgan of Cedar Rapids, Mary Ann (Carl) Peterson of Genola, Utah, Diann (Don) Barrigar of Cedar Rapids, and son Glen (Mary) Henry of Palo; seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law Mary Leonard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at 1026 A Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, 52402. Thank you to his many doctors and all the wonderful nurses at St. Luke's on 3 Center and 5th Floor CCU
