Richard Thomas Grant, 57, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center. surrounded by family. Services will be at a later date.

Richard was born on June 30, 1969, in Iowa City, the son of Raymond Patrick and Ravena Lou (Watkins) Grant. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School, class of 1989, and later earned a degree in Electrical Engineering at Loras College. He worked at Mediacom for over 30 years. Rich was married to Brenda Laughridge on October 12, 1994, and they were later divorced. He was united in marriage to Kathy Barker on August 12, 2006, in Las Vegas. He enjoyed watching and going to games at the Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys, having an occasional Busch Light, and most of all spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Rich is survived by his loving wife Kathy; his children Adam Williams Grant (Dani), Dallas Grant (Samantha), Casey (Katelynn) Cramblet and Jessica Cramblet; his grandchildren Jackson, Lucy, Emersyn, Oaklen, Whitley and Claire; his brother Chris (Sondra) Grant; as well as his cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Deann Grant
