Richard Alan Dalecky, 64 of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3rd at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Richard was born September 11, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Stanley and Anne (Sexton) Dalecky. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964. Richard married Joyce Warnke on September 17, 1966. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for Rockwell Collins for over 37 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Fleet Reserves and the American Legion. Richard is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Richard "Scott" (Kristen) of Hiawatha, Todd (Christi) of Marion, and David (Julie) of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Lauren, Dax, Blake, Alexandria and Ethan; sisters, Barb (Don) Pulkrab of Fairfax and Darlene Johnson of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, David (Claire) Dalecky of Reading, Pennsylvania; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to SOKOL Gymnastics or to a charity of the donors' choice in Richard's name.
