Richard "Dick" J. Cilek, 85, past away Friday, February 20, 2015 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will be in Czech National Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel. Richard was born November 8, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Bohumir J. and Libbie K. (Kalous) Cilek. Richard was an All-City football player for Wilson High school. After high school he served in the Army's Medical Battalion in the Korean conflict. Richard was united in marriage to Erma Ludvicek on May 17, 1956 in Cedar Rapids. He went onto work for 40 years with the Iowa, Illinois Gas and Electric Company, and also worked many years with the Two Star Detective Agency. He loved football, many outdoor activities such as fishing and camping. He was a devoted husband and father and will be missed by all his family and friends. Dick is survived by his four children; Dianne (Greg) Neal, Susan (Marty) Seebeck, Janet (Brett) Brubaker, and James R. Cilek; grandchildren, Rochelle, Allisen, and Samantha Neal, Jason Seebeck, Charles and Clayton (Laura) Brubaker, and Alan Michael Cilek; three great grandchildren; Domnik and Deven Neal, and Landon Seebeck; and a brother George (Barbara) Cilek who currently lives in Florida. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; Bohumir J. and Libbie K. Cilek, his wife, Erma of 54 years, and his sister, Arlene Mathias. Memorials may be directed to the family.
