Richard Achey, 61 of Solon died suddenly, Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.    Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Brosh Chapel in Solon where full military rites will be conducted by the Solon American Legion Stinocher Post 460.. Burial will follow in Clarence Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Solon, and for an hour prior to services Thursday at the Chapel.  A luncheon to celebrate Dick's life will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at the Solon American Legion.

Dick was born December 11, 1945 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Earl and Ada (Harmon) Achey.  Dick served in the Navy from 1964 until 1975.  He worked for American Gaming and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating.  He was an active member of the Solon American Legion.

Dick is survived by his brother Robert (Carol) Achey of Cedar Rapids; sisters Bettie (Virgle) Van Amburg of Norwalk, and Karen (Keith) Dennis of Clarence; and a good friend Orlie J. Workman.
