Reda Laura Yeries Herman, 98 of Swisher, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will follow in Anderson Cemetery, near Swisher. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Reda was born August 25, 1913 to William M. and Laura Fay (Pirkl) Yeries on a farm at Sugar Bottom. She was a graduate of Shueyville High School. Reda married Joseph Dan Herman on August 22, 1932 at the Linn County Courthouse in Cedar Rapids. She was employed by Colonial Bakery and later by Peter Pan Bakery. She and her husband were hired hands for several farmers in the Fairfax and Swisher area. Reda is survived by an uncle, Leo Yeries of Cedar Rapids and an aunt Mrs. Lawrence (Lottie) Yeries of Hills.
