Raymond E. Cruse, 76 of Solon, died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2008 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville.  Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Brosh Chapel in Solon.  Full military rites will be conducted by the Solon American Legion Stinocher Post 460.  Brosh Chapel in Solon is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond was born September 14, 1931 in Mechanicsville, the son of Elmer and Alta Mae (Jackson) Cruse.  He married Donna Cruse on January 24, 1957 in Tipton.   He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  Raymond enjoyed flowers, woodworking, and collecting rocks.  He was a member of the Cedar Valley Rock Club.  He raised sheep and was a member of the Polypay Association for over thirty years.

Raymond is survived by his wife; his children Debbie (Bruce) Glaspey of Sanford, FL, Denise (John) Jensen of Tipton, and Darren Cruse of Marion; and three grandchildren: Carrie, April, and Corey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin daughter Doreen, and his sisters Lorraine Cruse and Dorothy Stuhr.
