Phyllis Kathleen Detert, 80, died in her home on Saturday, December 26. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids , temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW with Reverend Glenn Hunt presiding. Burial will follow in Shueyville Cemetery . Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 29th at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids .

Phyllis Kathleen was born on June 20, 1929 near Troy Mills the daughter of Gershom "Jim" and Liddie Kaplan Cook. She married Don Detert on October 26, 1957 at Knox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids . She worked as a waitress for several restaurants including Sorenson's Cafeteria at Rockwell Collins. She enjoyed Czech music and playing bingo. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #515 and the Hanford American Legion Auxillary Post 5.

Phyllis Kathleen is survived by her husband Don and a sister Ellen Virginia Mackey of Center Point, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Orville Cook, and a brother-in-law Robert T. Mackey.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
