Phillip Pierce, 54 of Springville, died Monday, August 18, 2014. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. Friday at Brosh Chapel. A private family inurnment will be at a later date. Phillip was born December 2, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Calvin R. and Elizabeth Ann (Conner) Pierce. He married Jerrie Yuva on July 30, 1979, in Cedar Rapids. Phillip enjoyed helping others when in need, riding his motorcycles and four-wheelers, fishing, reminiscing of times past and spending time with his friends, family and Ellie. Phillip is survived by his wife Jerrie; his children Benjamin, Brandon (Nicole), Bryan (Nikkee), Brenton (Becca), and Breanna Pierce (Meech Moore) all of Cedar Rapids; one granddaughter Ellie and a grandson in September; two brothers Jake (Robin) Pierce of Hiawatha and Calvin Pierce of Cedar Rapids; two sisters Ronna (Mike) O'Connor of Shellsburg and Sandy Irons of Cedar Rapids, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, and a niece Shelly Robertson. A memorial fund has been established in his name at First Federal Credit Union in Cedar Rapids.
