Peggy Marie Krafka, 54 of Solon, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at her home following a courageous battle against breast/brain cancer. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Solon. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon and an hour prior to services Saturday. Peggy was born October 26, 1957 in Waterloo, the daughter of Robert and Patricia (Klein) McKenna. She graduated from Dysart Geneso High School in 1976 and married Daniel Krafka on November 24, 1979 at St. Mary's of Mt. Carmel in Eagle Center. Peggy graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 2001 and was most recently employed at the Solon Dental Center as a hygienist. Peggy is survived by her husband, Daniel; two sons, Alex and Ryan; mother Patty McKenna of La Porte City; three sisters, Lois Schmitt of Jesup, Evie (Cleo) Schmit of Jesup, and Shirley (Mike) Roth of Ft. Meyers, FL; three brothers, Joe (Eileen) McKenna of Hudson, Dick (Colette) McKenna of Vinton, and Gary (Teresa) McKenna of Vinton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert McKenna; brother-in-law, Ron Schmitt; brother, Bill McKenna; and sister-in-law, Earlene McKenna. Memorials may be directed to the St. Luke's Hospice, American Cancer Society, or St. Mary's Catholic Church of Solon.
