Pauline G. Erceg, 86 of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at St. Lukes Living Center West. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20 at St. Ludmilas Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Johns Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Ludmilas. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family. Pauline was born September 25, 1925, in Little Turkey, the daughter of Jim and Emma (Tupy) Panosh. She married George Erceg on August 4, 1947 in Little Turkey. She worked for over thirty eight years at Wilson Food until her retirement. Pauline enjoyed cooking, baking pies, watching the Cubs, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandkids. Pauline is survived by her husband George; her daughter Carol (Leonard) Steiner of Cedar Rapids and her son Tim (Donna) Erceg of Clive; four grandchildren Dr. Zac Steiner, Eric (Monique) Steiner, Brooke (Ryan Creery) Erceg and Lindsey (Rick Porter) Erceg; two great-grandchildren Sophie and Maverick Steiner; a sister Viola Swehla of Cedar Rapids; Pauline is preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law Clarence (Lena) Panosh; and a brother-in-law Joe Swehla. Memorials may be directed to St. Ludmilas Catholic Church.
