Pauline Rose Becicka, 85 of Cedar Rapids , died Thursday, January 20, 2011. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids , located at 2121 Bowling Street SW , with Deacon Jim Berger presiding. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery . Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids .

Pauline was born September 3, 1925 in Ely, the daughter of Thomas and Rose (Mrstik) Mackey. She married Joseph Becicka on December 4, 1942 at St. Patrick's Rectory. She worked at Armstrongs for many years as well as Grant Early Childhood Center . She enjoyed watching and feeding birds, sewing, listening to music and most importantly spending time with her family.

Pauline is survived by her children, Bonnie Sherman, Brenda (Terry) Braaten, and Al (Jodi) Becicka; six grandchildren: Jessica Sherman and Michelle (Mark) Campbell, Brad Plagmann, Morgan, Rilea, and Karigan Becicka, her sister Bee (Bill) Leidich, and her brother David (Ronnie) Mackey, and a sister in law Virginia Mackey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Ruth Kinzey and Phyllis Mackey, a brother Robert Mackey, and a special nephew Carl Davis.

Memorials may be directed to either Hospice of Mercy or the American Cancer Society.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of Mercy, especially Cindy for all their love and care for Pauline over the past few months. Pauline was a very kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all.
