Patricia Ann Lipscomb, 61 of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, April 27, 2014. Celebration of Life Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. A private family inurnment will be at a later date. Patricia was born May 23, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Joe Nathan and Rozellion (Howard) Lipscomb. She graduated from Washington High School in 1970. Patricia worked for over 30 years at Rockwell Collins retiring in November of 2012. In her early years, Patricia enjoyed fashion and was a skilled seamstress, sewing clothes for her family, son, daughter, and herself. She also loved to bake and cook, and showed her love by making trays of cookies and baked goods for family and friends during the Christmas holiday. She was also well-known for her great tasting barbeque, barbeque sauce, and made-from-scratch peach cobbler. In her later years, she loved to shop and read cookbooks and fashion magazines, she spend her last days enjoying time with her daughter and granddaughter, many times helping her granddaughter with her homework, and challenging each other as to what was the correct answer. Patricia had an infectious smile and everyone around her could feel the warmth when she was smiling and happy. Patricia is survived by her son Dartrell Lipscomb and daughter Shantell Lipscomb both of Marion; granddaughter Jada Ann Lipscomb; mother Rozellion Lipscomb of Cedar Rapids; sister Belinda (Doug) Bender of Villa Park, California, Pauline (Antonio) Lucas and Latonya Lipscomb; and her brother Tracy Lipscomb all of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Joe Nathan Lipscomb Jr. Memorials may be directed to the family.
