Patricia Ann (Pearson) Haas, 75 of Cedar Rapids died of a short illness on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2006 at First Lutheran Church (1000 3
rd
Avenue SE) in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, and for an hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery.
Patricia was born February 6, 1931 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Adrian and Katherine (Blessing) Pearson. She married Donald Haas on December 9, 1967. Patricia retired from Wilson's/Farmstead after working there many years. She was also a waitress at the Flame Room and most recently at the Longbranch. Patricia was a member of First Lutheran Church, a former union member of the Local P-3 and former member of the Eagles Club. She volunteered at Mercy Medical Center and was a Patient's Rights Advocate of Living Center East. She enjoyed reading novels and taking trips to Nevada to gamble.
Pat is survived by her two sons Michael (Karren) Smith of Hiawatha, and Eugene "Pete" (Carolyn) Smith of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother John (Mary) Pearson of Cedar Rapids; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded into death by her parents; her husbands; brother Thomas A. Pearson; sister Kay Williams Behm; and a step-granddaughter Tina Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy and/or American Cancer Association.
