Obie Dixon, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 4, 2023.  Celebration of Life services will be Saturday, July 15,2023, at 1:00 PM at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.

Obie was born March 17, 1957, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, the son of Ben and Bobbie Mims. He was united in marriage to Judy Watkins on August 28, 2017.

Obie is survived by his son Jerome Watkins; grandchild Ebony Watkins; mother Bobbie Mims; siblings Bruce (Brandie) Mims , Ben (Dawn) Mims Jr, Barbara (Darryl) Bernard, Edward (Tammy) Mims and Michael(Jennifer) Mims. And a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father Ben Mims Sr; his wife Judy Watkins; brother Larry Mims.

Obie was full of life, not just a son, brother, uncle, dad or grandfather but a man full of joy who at times more often than not made us laugh.
