Norma Jean Morgan, 69, of Cedar Rapids passed away Sunday, September 25, 2005 from complications of a stroke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Hope Lutheran Church with Reverend Dan Clark-Bridges, officiating. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Norma Jean was born on October 29, 1935 in Northwood, Iowa, the daughter of LeRoy and Alvina (Ennen) Wagner. She married Donald Morgan on May 8, 1976 after a seven year engagement at the Rock Island Court House in Illinois. Norma Jean worked at many businesses in the area including Cozy Inn, The Dragon, and Ramada Inn. She also was an Avon Lady. Norma Jean was a longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church, Elks Club, and Eagles Club. She also enjoyed volunteering with various groups such as meals on wheels.
Survivors include a daughter Elizabeth Peterson of Cedar Rapids; nieces Donna (Scott) Rhodes of Florida, Beatrice (Mike) Mango of Shueyville, and Cindy (Steven) Soy-Boever of Minnesota; nephews Ronald (Mary Ann) Soy of Minnesota, Steven (Sharon) Soy of Cedar Falls, Robert (Mary) Fite Sr. of Delta, Iowa, Lee (Kim) Fite of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and John (Eileen) Wagner of Missouri; great nieces and nephews, Terry Tiggemann, Denise Tiggeman, Barbara Morris, Cindy Picolet, Tonya Soy, Tammy Murphy, Thad Soy, Dylan Frohn, Robert Fite Jr., Jessica Newhaus, Rachel Garciea, Laura Geesaman, Larry Geesaman, Michael "Mick" Stoner, Brooke Fite, Brad Fite, Thomas Wagner, Tina Wagner, and Samantha Wagner; great-great nephews Jackson Soy, and Ian Geesaman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Raymond (Helen) Wagner and Denzel "Butch" (Helen) Wagner, and three sisters Helen (Joe) Flattery, Rosella (Fred) Fite, and Ardis (Chet) Soy.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
