Norma (Lohman) Becicka, 92 of Ely died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Hallmark Care Center in Mt. Vernon.  Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 21 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with burial following in Cedar Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time Wednesday at Brosh Chapel.

Norma was born April 20, 1914 in Independence, the daughter of Ben and Emma Dake Lohman.  She married John Becicka April 16, 1942 in Cedar Rapids.  She worked for many years in the catering business as well as being a professional home cleaner.  She was a past member of the YWCA.  Norma loved to cook, bake, and listen to the Cubs.  She was an avid Hawkeye sports fan.

Norma is survived by her daughter Sharon (Douglas) Brokel of Ely; five grandchildren: Scott (Michelle) Brokel, Ted Brokel, Darren (Debbie Seibles) Brokel, Chris Brokel, and Julie (Jim) Hendricks; and seven greatgrandchildren: John, Jill, Jake, Jessie, Jake, Emma, and Sam.  Norma is preceded in death by her sisters and brothers Clara Shook, Cecilia Hickey, Edna Pudil, Laura Hickey, Lydia Lohman, Martin Lohman and Leonard Lohman.
