Nola Siver, 83, of Anamosa, passed away peacefully May 3, 2016, after a long illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Anamosa First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is handling arrangements.

She was born September 27, 1932 to Neil And S. Matilda Townsend. She graduated from Anamosa High School, attended one year at Cornell College, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from UNI. Nola taught at Marion and Martelle Schools before marrying her beloved husband, Thomas A. Siver. She worked side-by-side with her husband farming and caring for their family. Nola loved attending their children's activities, family vacations, adventures with her friends, traveling, quilting, volunteering, bird watching, journaling, reading her Bible, and making the most of everyday.

Nola was a faithful member of the Anamosa Baptist Church, Sunday School Teacher, President of the Women's Jones County Farm Bureau, 4-H Leader, Quilt Club, and Idle Knot Craft Club.

Nola is survived by her sons, Thomas Jon (Jill J.) Siver of Missouri and Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Siver of Texas, her faithful daughter Jill Elliott of Anamosa, fifteen grandchildren , six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Patty (Dick) Townsend-Jeffrey, LaVerta (Lou) Langenberg, Anne (Ken) Denger and Carol Townsend; as well as special cousins, nieces, and nephews.

As a woman of strong faith, Nola looked forward to the life to come with her Lord Jesus. She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 54 years, Thomas A. Siver; her siblings Berneice (Virgil) Soukup, Leo (Charlette) Benischek, Neva (Kenneth) Millard, LaVerne Townsend, Neil Townsend, Randy Townsend, and her daughter-in-law Debra Siver.

She is dearly missed by, her family and friends. Memorials may be directed to the family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Vernon, the ALS Society, and Unity Point Hospice for their tender, loving support. Unity Point Hospice did an exceptional job making her passing a kind and loving experience.
